COMPLETE DIGESTIVE STOOL ANALYSIS TEST

What is a CDSA Test?

A complete or comprehensive digestive stool analysis, referred to conveniently, as a CDSA or CSA, is a test that tells us about the way your gut is functioning.

What Can We Learn from a CDSA Test?

We can understand how diverse your gut microbiome is. If there is any dysbiosis in the large bowel, and if there are any gut pathogens – yeasts, bacteria and parasites that may be causing digestive issues, such as diarrhoea, or constipation, bloating, or gas. A Complete Digestive Stool Analysis can detect many other digestive markers as well, showing bowel health and integrity, detecting general inflammation and reporting on digestion of fats and proteins.

Our microbiome is now recognised as a major contributor to our overall health. That makes it very important to have a balanced, healthy gut. Weak digestive capacity and out-of-balance gut flora may perform a crucial role in the underlying cause of a number of different health conditions.

How Do I Take a Stool Sample?

A CDSA is a non-invasive, valuable test to understanding your digestive health. You may be asked to do a test that requires 1 stool sample or if you are checking for parasites, this can require 3 stool samples. The CDSA kit will come with all the directions and equipment (gloves, sample collectors and containers).

What Conditions and Symptoms can a CDSA Test Help?

  • Any Gastrointestinal Symptoms
  • Chronic joint pain -RA /OA
  • Autoimmune Diseases – bowel health is essential
  • Chronic or acute diarrhoea/constipation
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease / Irritable Bowel Disease
  • Nutritional deficiencies from malabsorption
  • Food Sensitivities
  • Chronic abdominal pain
  • Determining the presence of pathogenic microorganisms such as yeast, parasites, and bacteria

How Much Does a CDSA Test Cost?

There are 6 different levels of a CDSA (1, 2, 3. 3+, 4, 4+, 5). In each level, there are similar (and different) markers that can give guidance to developing a specific treatment plan for your gut. Within a Naturopathic or Nutritional Consultation, a CDSA we will be able to decide which is the most level is the most suitable for you.

Because the testing is done in the U.S., we have to convert to $US. The cost depends on which level is ordered. The prices range from $AU130 for Level 1 to $AU669 for the most comprehensive CDSA.
